Felted Wool Artwork

2018- We are so taken by the screens and devices in our lives that we spend less time living and connecting with this magical natural world than ever before. If we let nature reclaim us like it does to cracks in sidewalks and the sides of buildings, we will rediscover our world and reconnect with it. Be taken by Nature- it is a return to balance. -JMP

2018 One of the bravest things we can do is make art. It can bring us face to face with our perceived flaws and inabilities in an uncomfortable, but important, way. If we can embrace bravery and face those, we can find the deep love and acceptance needed to truly find love for ourselves and for others. -JMP

2018- We must remember not to limit ourselves by species. We are connected to every living being on the planet and those beings are our family members.-JMP

2018- In March I met my first Eastern Spiny Softshell Turtle at ECHO in Burlington, VT. It was amazing to see these creatures that travel through their lives with delicate, tender shells. I was struck by how many people and other creatures I had met in my life who were also softshelled and how much courage it takes to walk through your days, your life, with a softshell. -JMP

2018- Rabbits, birds singing and budding pussy willow always translates to Spring for me hailing the start of this magical time of rebirth and new growth.-JMP

2018 Some species of whales can live 255 years or longer (Bowhead whales) and many tree species live hundreds and even thousands of years- they have knowledge to share with those who listen. They ARE our elders and we must work harder to respect and protect them. They are irreplaceable.-JMP

2018- On a lovely walk with my daughter, we came across a magical creature- a flying squirrel. Then, right in front of us, it leapt into the air and flew like a bird to a tree quite far away. I couldn't help but think about how interesting it is that everyone has hidden abilities- or wrong assumptions- attached to a previously established set of ideas from how we look. There is something marvelous about animals that remind us that we mustn't ever judge anyone based on appearances. -JMP
